Delfo Cabrera, Argentine distance runner. Successful at distances from 1500m to the marathon, Cabrera won the 1948 (London) Olympic marathon in 2:34:51.6. Winner of numerous South American championship titles in a variety of events, Cabrera was also the marathon champion at the inaugural Pan American Games in 1951.

Josef Odložil, Czechoslovakia, middle-distance runner. Josef Odložil was the silver medalist in the 1964 (Tokyo) Olympic Games 1,500m, running 3:39.6 behind the great Kiwi athlete, Peter Snell. In 1965 Odložil set a world record of 5:01.2 in the 2,000m. He died on 10 September 1993.
