Johannes Petter "Hannes" Kohlemainen, Finnish long-distance runner. Kohlemainen held world records at 2,000 meters, 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, 25,000 meters, and 30,000 meters. In the 1912 (Stockholm) Olympic games, he won gold medals in the 5,000 meter and 10,000 meter track events as well as the 12 km cross-country race. Returning to the Olympics in 1920 (Antwerp), he won the 42.75 km marathon in 2:32:35.8. Kohlemainen also ran for Finland in the 1924 Olympics.
